The annual Caribbean Cruise-in Car Show, Salty Sam's Marina and Parrot Key Caribbean Grill, will kick off the first Monday in November with some great giveaways.

Marketing Director David Kastan said individuals can register their cars into seven different categories, which includes antiques, classic, open class, two categories of Corvettes, street rods and muscle cars.

"We close off our entire parking lot at the marina. We rope off first thing in the morning. Some of the cars start showing up as early as 12," he said. "They tailgate all day. The festivities and open registration starts at 4 p.m. when the DJ starts playing and the beer tents start going up."

In addition to the beer stations, which also have wine and bottle water, both of the restaurants will be open serving food. Kastan said those who register their vehicles in the show will receive 20 percent off at either restaurant.

The annual Caribbean Cruise-in Car Show, free registration and open to spectators, will kick off the season from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Salty Sam's Marina and Parrot Key Caribbean Grill. The car show takes place on the first and third Monday of each month November through April.

"There is no charge to come in," Kastan said.

Those who register their car in the Nov. 5 show will receive two complimentary passes for a special, private charter on the Pieces of Eight Pirate Ship.

"Everyone who registers a car will get two passes for a private charter on Nov. 10, just the car guys on a charter all by themselves. It should be a nice evening. It's a gift and party to kick off the car show season," he said.

The show attracts anywhere between 100 to 150 cars from all over Southwest Florida and beyond.

An awards ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. for category prizes.

"Our average prize dollar value for the category prizes are around $100," Kastan said.

For the first few car shows the category prize will include four free passes for a sunset cruise, as well as $20 gift card for either restaurant.

"Come and have some food and go out on the cruise," he said.

There will also be random drawings for giveaways for the spectators. In addition, Kastan said they will also have a random drawing for two tickets aboard the Key West Express for those who put their information in a fish bowl at the show.
