‘Business friendly’ policies have devastated beach businesses

September 26, 2018
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

To the editor:

I've had many beautiful beach walk strolls collecting gorgeous empty shells.

But now I can't go to the beach with the dead wildlife both on shore and devastated under water as a diver explored and reported.

While I miss this beauty even more devastated are the people and businesses with loss of tourists and business. It was hard to believe that a food pantry was coming to Fort Myers Beach. I spoke to one server who only made $8 one day.

I was fortunate that I was able to bring food to the food pantry instead of needing to take it away. I think they were surprised to see me bringing food to them

Water quality regulations were deregulated to be business friendly by the current administration. Was that business friendly? It was very short sighted and even worse are the commercials blaming the senate Democrat when surrounded by the opposition party. As Senator Nelson said when he flew in space. we are all in this together.

So, let's get together to resolve this serious thread to the Florida economy and nature.

Florida stands for nature and the environment. Where are we without it?
