From the Fire Chief

A submission from the Fort Myers Beach Fire Department

September 5, 2018
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

Hello Fort Myers Beach, San Carlos Island and surrounding areas!

Recently we have found that most of our community is aware of the core services provided by the Fort Myers Beach Fire Department in responding to fire, medical and other emergencies. However, over the years our organization has expanded services to cover a lot more than emergency response. Many residents and businesses have utilized our additional services and we want to make sure everyone is aware of these services and knows how to access them.

This will be the first in a series to provide additional information regarding the services provided and hopefully help members of our community find resources. We would also like to encourage you to visit our website at www.FMBFire.org for additional information.

To kick-off this series, one of the ways to stay informed is to subscribe to the Fire Chief's "Scoop". The Scoop is a weekly publication informing our community of various activities, events, and information to help keep everyone up to date and have access to resources. To subscribe to the Scoop, please visit our website's homepage and look for "Subscribe to the Scoop".

In this installment we would like to highlight our Car Seat Installation services. We recognize that car seat installation sounds like a simple task. With laws changing and the many different car seat and vehicles types, it is not as easy as one might think. Our organization has sent various members to a more than 40-hour certification course so that we can assist you in properly installing car seats to ensure your family is safe. We would love to share this information with you, to ensure that this simple, but crucial, family safety task is providing the protection you need.

Our organization is dedicated to "Shaping Our Community through Excellence" far beyond responding to emergencies. If you are interested in these services or any other programs that the Fort Myers Beach Fire Department offers, please call us at 239-590-4200, email us at info@FMBFire.org, or visit us on the web at www.FMBFire.org.

Make it a safe day!

Matt Love, Fort Myers Beach Fire Chief
