Best Western Plus Beach Resort receives corporate award

May 30, 2018
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

The Best Western Plus Beach Resort on Fort Myers Beach received the Champion RevPAR Award at Best Western Hotels & Resorts' District IV Meeting held recently in Orlando. This award was presented in front of several hundred District IV Best Western hoteliers from Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.

The Champion RevPAR Award is earned by the property in each district with the most improved revenue per available room. The hotel also must meet quality, design and service standards, as well as other membership requirements, to qualify for this award.

The Best Western Plus Beach Resort was one of only seven hotels out of more than 2,100 properties in the U.S. and Canada to receive the designation this year.

"It's an honor to be receiving the RevPAR award from Best Western, said Jeff Malbon, general manager of The Best Western Plus Beach Resort. "Our resort continues to evolve to focus on the needs of today's travelers. We challenge our team every day to ensure our guests' stay is exceptional and this award is a reflection of their hard work."

Jeff Malbon and his cousin, Tim Malbon, managing general partner, operate the family-owned resort with family members. The resort is consistently recognized for excellence. Awards include a 2018 recipient of Best Western's Chairman's award, a 2017 recipient of the M.K. Guertin Award, the brand's most esteemed honor, a five-year winner of Best Western's Champion Customer Care Award and a 2015 winner of the chain's Green Award, recognizing commitment to conserving resources and reducing carbon footprint. The resort has been awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for six years, earning a spot in the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame. Tim Malbon serves on the 300-member Best Western board of governors. Jeff and Tim Malbon were also named Best Tourism Boss by the Lee Visitor and Convention Bureau in 2016.
