EITA, Chamber host joint meeting on code enforcement

May 16, 2018
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

The Estero Island Taxpayers Association and the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce are joining to discuss code enforcement Wednesday, May 16 at Beach Baptist Church, 130 Connecticut Street. The event will begin at 6 p.m. for social time followed by the meeting at 6:30 p.m.

The panel of guest speakers will include: Anita Cereceda, Town Council Member; Joe Orlandini, developer and business owner; Amy Loughrey of Distinctive Beach Rentals; Rae Sprole of the Sun Deck Inn and Suites; Beverley Grady, Land Use Attorney for Roetzel Law Firm along with others to examine why the Town of Fort Myers Beach is making a policy shift from complaint-based code enforcement to proactive code enforcement. Why are there additional Code Enforcement Officers needed? How will this affect Our Community? Do we or don't we want it?

A big thank you to MoJoe's Coffee Cafe for supplying refreshments to EITA's April meeting!
