Many passers-by may have noticed some changes in a local island landmark recently. A historic part of Fort Myers Beach for generations, The Gulfshore Grill has been going through some very well-deserved renovations over the last several days.

Palma Frable, operations director of Palm Trends Marketing, oversees the PR for the company, and is just as excited as its owners about these new updates to the award-winning north-end eatery.

"This place has been around forever; it has great historical value the owners aren't changing the core of who they are it's just going to be a nice refresh, with more modern amenities and even better unobstructed views of the water," she hinted. "Without giving way too much right now, it will be very open, very modern, very fresh, but still have a solid connection to that Olde Florida charm."

Famed local island eatery The Gulfshore Grill has been going through some recent renovations. Over the next several weeks, look forward to updates that will preserve the eatery’s Olde Florida feel while adding modern amenities, higher roof and grand view of the Gulf of Mexico. Gulfshore Grill has always stayed true to the vintage style of the island, and as Palma says, "they're really going to great lengths to preserve that history, keeping as much original as they can."

During the last several days, heavy demolition has taken place at the 1250 Estero Blvd. location, tearing out the bar and making room for all of the modifications and additions.

"Our Fort Myers Beach area contractors of Jay Ursoleo Construction will be working on raising the deck to give the property a bit of a lift, as well as raising the roof," Palma said.

Through all of these remodifications and upgrades, Gulfshore Grill will remain closed until a grand re-opening celebration tentatively sometime in early October.

Once they reopen, fans of the extensive menu need not worry of big changes to what's being served.

As Palma says, "People have already been concerned of the menu, and we assure you, we will be keeping the majority of the food items, adding new menu items, as well."

In the meantime, The Cottage part of the establishment, as well as ground-floor Beach Bar, remains open through renovations, still offering live music seven days a week, and open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.

In the near future, Palma said The Cottage will also have some updating, but more along the lines of very light tweaks, primarily to its website and social media platforms. Look forward to the Beach Bulletin for updates on this big renovation project in the next couple of weeks.
