Town should enforce its codes

To the Editor:

My wife and I share Vice Mayor Tracey Gore's frustration with the noise downtown. We live on Primo Drive for 16 years. It has never been this bad. I feel it is a town problem and should be dealt with by code enforcement. The town has made the codes to live by, and so they should enforce them. I read in the other beach paper about some staff employees filing complaints about Gore's remarks of flying monkeys. Remember the old saying sticks and stones will break my bones. Quit being a snowflake. Several also stated how they took calls from residents on their off hours. Council members are never off. They get very poor pay, if you figure out their time they probably make .16 cents an hour. Some complained about losing their jobs because we need to downsize. That is a shame and I feel bad for them. It happened to me as I was an Exxon dealer for 38 years, one day I get a registered letter from the company stating my contract was being cancelled. That was it and I was done they gave me no reason, 38 years down the tubes. There are no guarantees for your job today, we live in a fast changing world. So in the words of Clint Eastwood if you want a guarantee, buy a toaster.

P.S. I was an auto mechanic all my life and was called a grease monkey. Wha wha wha then I became a rich grease monkey.
