April 13, 2017
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

The staff of The Cottage and Gulfshore Grill recently sent out a letter to local businesses and residents, asking for assistance with its upcoming Cinco de Mayo Celebration benefit:

Dear Fellow Business Owners and Community Members,

On Friday, May 5, 2017, The Gulfshore Grill and The Cottage will be hosting a Cinco de Mayo Celebration and Fort Myers Beach (FMB) Fireworks Fiesta Fundraiser.

As you may have already heard, the town of Fort Myers Beach has had a difficult year financially; between the costs of on-going road construction, and Lake O water releases, tourism on the island has been impacted creating budgetary challenges. As a result, our annual fireworks display is in jeopardy.

As season winds down, local businesses on the island rely on the Fourth of July events for a summer economic boost. Residents and visitors alike come down year after year to celebrate by spending the entire day and night creating memories and traditions that will last a lifetime. We don't want to disappoint our friends, families and loyal customers!

There are numerous businesses and neighbors trying to raise money to help offset the costs of this very important and traditional holiday celebration. We also want to show our support in a big way! We are going to raise money, while doing what we do best: Party!

So, on Friday, May 5, as usual, we will have the best live music, from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., along with raffle prizes, and themed food and drink specials. It's sure to be a party that you won't want to miss!

This is where you can come in and help. Please partner with us and spread the word then join us for the party! We would greatly appreciate any raffle prizes or donations that you could give. Feel free to give your donations to our awesome employees who are out and about, working tirelessly to make this the best fund-raiser ever.

For your convenience, you can also drop donations and prizes off at the restaurant, or mail to: Cinco de Mayo Celebration and FMB Fireworks Fiesta Fundraiser, The Gulfshore Grill and The Cottage, 1250 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931.

If you have any questions, suggestions or other concerns, please feel free to call the restaurant at 239-765-5440 and ask to speak to a manager.

Thanks again for your support!
