Thriving to Surviving charity event Saturday for children

April 7, 2017
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

April is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness month and to raise money for the thousands of children who are victims of abuse/neglect, Erik Fine of Florida's Finest Realty and Ana Loiselle, Certified Relationship Specialist are joining with Children's Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida to benefit these precious children.

To bring awareness, Erik and Ana will host a fund-raising event, From Surviving to Thriving, Saturday, April 8, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Marker 92 at Tarpon Point Marina, Cape Coral.

Tickets to the event includes live entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, silent auctions and raffles.

The aim is to raise $5,000 or more to enable the foundation to continue treating kids believed to have been physically or sexually abused or to be at-risk of such abuse, and provide a safe place for them to come and be heard.

This month and throughout the year, both Fine and Loiselle encourage all individuals and organizations to play a role in making Lee County a better place for children and families.

"By ensuring parents have the knowledge, skills and resources they need to care for their children, we can help prevent child abuse and neglect by making meaningful connections with children, youth and families in our communities," Ana said. "April is a time to celebrate the important role that communities play in protecting children and strengthening families. It's easier to build up a child than it is to repair an adult."

"There's no excuse for child abuse. We all have a role to play in the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Everyone's participation is critical," added Eric.

Tickets are $25 and available at
