Town officials quiet on harbormaster's departure

Austin Gilchrist, who has been the harbormaster for the Town of Fort Myers Beach for the past several years, is no longer employed by the town and officials aren't saying why. Town of Fort Myers Beach Manager Andy Hyatt informed the town council in calls Monday that the town was no longer employing Gilchrist. Hyatt declined to comment on the cause of the town's separation with Gilchrist but confirmed he was no longer employed by the town.
